Drop-In Center New Orleans
For over 15 years the Drop-In Center has filled a void in New Orleans by providing both medical and social services for runaway and homeless youth. The overall mission of the Drop-In Center is to improve the health and quality of life of homeless youths, between the ages of 14 to 23 years, by providing for and broadening the comprehensive network of primary healthcare and substance abuse, mental health, case management and outreach services.
Time: 5:00 pm-7:00 pm
Location: 1428 N. Rampart, New Orleans, LA 70112.
Description: Volunteers will serve a much appreciate hot meal to approximately 60 clients and staff of the Drop-In center

Covenant House New Orleans
Established in 1988, Covenant House New Orleans provides a comprehensive array of services and programs for homeless, runaway and at-risk youth ages 16-21.
Time: 5:00 pm-7:00 pm
Location: 611 N. Rampart, New Orleans, LA 70112.
Description: Volunteers will serve pizza, beverages and deserts to approximately 60 clients and staff along with performing repair of recreational equipment of the Covenant House.
New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Opportunity July 10, 2009
Number of Volunteers: 75
Work hours: 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM
Lunch: From 12:00- 1:00 we will break for lunch. You are to bring your own lunch with you to the site. Lunch will not be provided for you. Bring a bottle of water.
Worksite: You will receive an email from Lorraine Palmer Hayes two weeks prior to your volunteer date. YOU MUST RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL with your updated volunteer numbers and dates. Once you email this information to lorraineph@habitat-nola.org, we will send your meeting site location. KEEP YOUR TRANSPORTATION ON HAND because you might move to a different location.
Liability Waiver: Please bring your completed liability waiver with you to the worksite if you have not already sent it in. In the instance that you misplace or forget your waiver, some will be available on site. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the attached individual waiver signed by a parent.

Habitat For Humanity
A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian Housing Ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. To accomplish these goals, they invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Today, they have built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
