In October 2008, George Golliday was appointed Acting Chief, National Recruitment Program (NRP), Office of the Chief Diversity Officer, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Washington, DC. In this capacity, Mr. Golliday is responsible for overseeing all student hiring and volunteer programs for ICE.
Mr. Golliday oversees the full scope of recruitment and outreach functions for ICE, to include both law enforcement and mission support positions. This responsibility also includes the Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP); Presidential Management Fellows Program; Student Volunteer Program; Student Career Exchange Program (SCEP); National Security Internship Program; Workforce Recruitment Program and the Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP).
Mr. Golliday began his 18 year career as a student intern, later accepting a position as a criminal investigator with the United States Customs Service (USCS), San Diego field office. Mr. Golliday has also worked for the USCS Office of Internal Affairs Detroit and Chicago field offices; USCS Office of International Affairs (U.S. Consulate General’s Office) Montreal, Quebec, Canada; and the ICE Office of Investigations Detroit Field Office. Mr. Golliday has held a variety of positions to include Senior Special Agent, Team Leader, Recruiter, and Program Manager and has extensive experience conducting narcotics investigations and well as interviewing and interrogations, receiving training and certification from the Reid School for Interviewing and Interrogation.
Mr. Golliday holds both Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminal Justice from Grambling State University of Louisiana; Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix; and is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center Criminal Investigator and Customs Basic Enforcement Schools.
Mr. Golliday currently serves in the following organizations: Past President of the Grambling State University National Alumni Association-Detroit Chapter; current member of the National Black MBA Association-Detroit Chapter; life member of Blacks In Government (BIG). Mr. Golliday also serves as a mentor and coach to both young men and women in the Detroit Metropolitan area.
In June 2008, Mr. Golliday was elected President of the National Association of African Americans in the Department of Homeland Security (NAADHS) and is also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
